Discover the Power of DBT Skills: New Virtual Groups for Fall 2025

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions, struggled to manage stress, or found it difficult to maintain healthy relationships, you’re not alone. Many people search for effective strategies to create balance in their lives—and that’s where Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) can help.

At Middle Path Counseling, we specialize in DBT and EMDR therapy for individuals in Kansas and Missouri, and we’re excited to announce our new Fall 2025 Virtual DBT Skills Groups!

What is DBT and How Can It Help?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment originally developed to help people who experience intense emotions. Over time, DBT has been proven effective for a wide range of struggles, including:

  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Trauma-related challenges
  • Relationship difficulties

DBT teaches four core skill areas:

  1. Mindfulness – learning to stay present and grounded.
  2. Distress Tolerance – handling crises without making things worse.
  3. Emotion Regulation – understanding and managing strong feelings.
  4. Interpersonal Effectiveness – building healthier relationships and communication.

By practicing these skills, individuals learn to create balance, cope with challenges, and live a more values-driven life.

Why Join a DBT Skills Group?

While individual therapy is powerful, DBT skills groups offer something unique—a safe, supportive environment to practice skills with others who understand your struggles. In our groups, you’ll:

  • Gain tools to navigate daily stress and emotional intensity.
  • Build connection with peers who are also working on growth.
  • Receive guidance from skilled DBT-trained therapists.
  • Experience accountability and encouragement in a structured setting.
