I know I can’t be the only one who’s struggled to keep up with their healthy habits because of COVID. I think it’s safe to say it’s thrown all of us off our game at one point or another, these last two years. No matter your lifestyle or daily routine, it’s so important to keep up with simple habits to keep yourself physically and mentally on track. Here’s a list of a few things to check in with daily that are easy and don’t take long…remember to be honest with yourself!
- What’s my water intake look like?
- Who in my support system have I talked to today that makes me feel good?
- Have I moved my body recently (a walk/run outside, going to the gym, etc…)
- Have I eaten enough today/What is my body hungry for?
- What are the thoughts I’m telling myself today?
When we feel overwhelmed or scattered in our emotions, it’s often because we have lost track of the small things. Try not to overwhelm yourself with tackling too much at once. Consistency is key, and it’s more often about the small things than it is the big actions that affect our mood and productivity on a daily basis.
If asking yourself all of these questions in one day seems like too much, focus on just one. What’s one thing you could do today to show yourself some extra love? Take five minutes after reading this to do that thing before moving on with the rest of your day. First, take a few deep breaths and allow yourself the space to take time for YOU. After all, you owe it to yourself.
