Why We Are Updating Our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
At Middle Path Counseling, we are always looking for ways to better serve our clients while also supporting the clinicians and staff who make quality care possible. Beginning June 1st, we will be implementing an important update to our cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Starting June 1st, all cancellations or requests to reschedule appointments must be made during business hours in order to avoid being charged a late cancellation or no-show fee.
We understand that texting and emailing after hours has become second nature for many people. It is quick, easy, and convenient. However, as our practice continues to grow, we have found that after-hours scheduling requests create significant challenges for scheduling coordination, clinician availability, and administrative workflow.
Why This Change Is Necessary
Mental health appointments are reserved specifically for each individual client. When an appointment is canceled late, it often prevents another client from being able to access care during that time.
Additionally, our administrative team manages scheduling, communication, insurance coordination, and client care during designated office hours. Monitoring messages 24/7 is simply not sustainable for a growing practice and can create confusion around when requests are received and processed.
This updated policy helps us:
- Maintain consistent scheduling practices
- Protect clinician time and availability
- Improve communication clarity
- Reduce scheduling confusion
- Continue providing quality care to all clients
What This Means for Clients
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact our office during business hours only.
Our business hours are:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Any calls, texts, or emails received outside of business hours will be considered received at the start of the next business day. If the request falls within the cancellation window, the late cancellation or no-show fee may apply.
We Appreciate Your Understanding
We know that policy changes can take adjustment, and we truly appreciate the understanding and support of our clients. These changes are intended to help us continue offering reliable, organized, and high-quality mental health care for everyone we serve.
As always, if you have questions about scheduling, policies, or services, our team is happy to help during office hours.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your care journey.
