Make Mental Health Part of Your Summer Plans

When summer arrives, life often becomes a little less predictable. Vacations, family gatherings, camps, sporting events, and changing routines can make calendars feel packed. While these activities are exciting, they can also make it easy to put your mental health on the back burner.

At Middle Path Counseling, we want to encourage you to make yourself a priority this summer.

Summer Is the Perfect Time to Focus on Your Mental Health

For many people, summer offers more scheduling flexibility than the school year. That extra breathing room can make it easier to attend counseling consistently or even schedule additional sessions to work toward your goals.

Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, stress, or simply wanting to continue personal growth, staying engaged in therapy helps maintain the progress you’ve already made.

Think of therapy as part of your summer self-care plan—not something that has to wait until fall.

You May Have Better Insurance Coverage Than You Think

Many families reach their insurance deductible after medical procedures, emergency visits, or other healthcare expenses earlier in the year.

If you’ve met your deductible, your counseling sessions may cost less than expected.

We’re Accepting New Clients

We currently have appointment availability in both Missouri and Kansas.

We offer:

  • Individual Counseling for ages 10 and up now!!
  • Trauma Therapy (EMDR)
  • Comprehensive DBT Programs
  • Telehealth Appointments
  • In-Person Sessions

Our Kansas office also offers Medication Management for clients who may benefit from medication alongside therapy.

Traveling? Let’s Plan Ahead

Summer vacations are wonderful—but they do affect telehealth appointments.

Because therapists are licensed by state, your clinician can only provide therapy while you are physically located in a state where they are licensed.

If you’re planning to travel, please let us know as early as possible so we can schedule around your trip or discuss available options.

Help Us Help You Avoid Cancellation Fees

We know summer schedules change quickly.

One of the easiest ways to avoid cancellation fees is simply to communicate with us as soon as you know your plans have changed.

Early notice allows us to offer your appointment to another client who may be waiting for care, while helping you avoid unnecessary charges.

Our goal is never to collect cancellation fees—we’d much rather keep your care moving forward.

Let’s Make This a Healthy Summer

Mental health doesn’t take a vacation, and neither does your progress.

Whether you’re continuing therapy, interested in starting counseling, looking for medication management in Kansas, or simply wondering about your insurance benefits, our team is here to help.

This summer, give yourself permission to invest in your well-being.

Your future self will thank you.
